 Beautiful November Skies

Covering of Snow Dec. 18th. 

Nov. 22nd. Annual General Meeting. New committee formed- Chairman Ian Gray, Vice chair Audrey Clark, Secretary Brian martin,Treasurer Brian Cleaver. Nineteen members on committee. Lawerence Brain, retired vet, gave a very interesting illustrated talk on Wildlife rescue.

August.  Leopard Slug. Plenty moisture about this month for the slugs to have a bonanza.

 Dragonflies not so numerous this year as temperatures have not been high.

July. Aphids on Vetch with Ant Aphids on Vetch being milked by Ants for the sweet Honey dew.

June 23rd. First Ringlet Butterfly of the year. Their caterpillars feed on Grasses.

June 22nd. Blue Tits and Swallows left their nests.

April 26th. Orange tip, Tortoiseshell and Green-veined White Butterflies enjoying the glorious spring weather.

Daffodils have been a great show. Very little wind or rain for the last three weeks.

April 10th. A whole week of sunshine for the first week of the school easter holidays. spring has sprung.  

Sun March 27th. A very successful Memories Day was held in the Community Centre and the Episcopal Church. Lots of very happy memories were recalled by the generations spanning over ninety years. 

              Lots of Frogs and spawn. Ground conditions very wet.  

March.  In like a lamb. Beautiful day, temperature up to 8 degrees. Birds are all singing and flirting in the trees. No longer desperately hunger for food.

February 2011.  No snow this month. More rain and ground conditions very wet and slippy.  Coltsfoot flowering 20Th but no sign of frog spawn yet.

January 2011   The snow commenced on 23rd November 2010 and continued to cover the ground for two months with depths up to 40  cms on the roofs and fields, and temperatures down to minus fourteen. The school was closed or disrupted for about three weeks in all. The Christmas concert took place on January 24th. The lake at Fyvie Castle is still frozen today, 27th January, but the last of the snow has melted this week.

We have had some beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
