"Those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life." [Rachel Carson]

This page gives some detail of the resources available to borrow free of charge from Woodhead & Windyhills Community Trust library. We have stared a regular library night on the first Monday of the month at the Woodhead Community Centre from 7.00 pm to 8.30 pm, so please come along for a browse and a blether. In addition to the reference books listed below we also have a number of other resources:

  • Leaflets on birds, flowers, spiders, insects, trees, fungi, grasses, lichens, bugs, animal tracks and signs, ferns, and dragonflies.
  • Posters for display on owls, squirrels, and birds.
  • We are also building a library of photographs of the local flora and fauna, the quarries, and the village.
  • For children we have a variety of Spotters Guides - birds, wild flowers, trees, bugs and insects.

This is the latest catalogue of books we have available in our library. For more information about the library, contact Helen on 01651 891223 or email by clicking here.
